Our Vision

To see unreached people transformed in Christ.
Our Mission

Serving as the voice and hands of Jesus, we declare and demonstrate Jesus Christ through media, healthcare and community development.

Why Reach Beyond?

Reach Beyond is a sending organization that wants unreached people everywhere to hear about Jesus, see Him in action and learn how to follow Him.

We define unreached as cultures and locations where Jesus Christ is largely unknown, and the church is insufficient to make Him known in its broader population without outside help.

We create opportunities for you to engage your skills, resources and prayers in reaching the unreached. We have been doing this for over 90 years, since launching HCJB Radio in Quito, Ecuador in 1931. We leverage nearly nine decades of strategic partnership and strengths in media, medicine and community development, to now proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel where Jesus is least known.

Why the Unreached?

The Great Commission to “go and make disciples of all nations,” (Matt 28:19a ESV) is as true for us today as it was for Jesus’ disciples. However, nearly 2,000 years later, 42% of all people groups are still unreached. Until all have heard, and every nation has been reached, the task remains unfinished.

Yet, very few resources are currently directed toward reaching the unreached. More than 90% of all missionaries work among already reached people, and less than one percent of donations go to reaching the unreached. We want to shift this paradigm and help fill the gap.

“But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?” – Romans 10:14 NLT

Reaching the Unreached

Finding unreached people groups is not as simple as checking off country lists. For one, when Jesus commanded His followers to "make disciples of all nations" in Matthew 28:19, He was not referring to political nations. The word Jesus used for nations in Greek is "ethne," from which we get the English word, "ethnic." Jesus commanded us to make disciples from every enthnic people group.
In addition, sending missionaries to every country is not an easy thing. Unreached people are unreached for a reason. Closed borders, war, famine and persecution makes some countries impossible to reach.
That is why we use three strategies for reaching the unreached:
  • We reach unreached people by sending missionaries where we can go
  • We reach unreached people by broadcasting media over borders where we cannot yet go.
  • And we reach unreached people by looking for opportunities to serve where unreached people come to us, as in working with refugee and diaspora populations.
