Reach Beyond's SonSet Effect program sends hand-held, solar-powered radios that are fixed-tuned to the frequency of our local Christian partners’ FM radio stations all over the world. The radio staff distribute these “portable missionaries” in remote villages, to poor households who cannot afford radios, to places without electricity and to people who are isolated in prisons and hospitals.

One of the members in a church in an Indonesian village was given a radio, fixed-tuned to the station in that region operated by our Christian partner. Few people in the village own radios, so the church hooked up the little radio to the loudspeaker, and it can be heard all over the village! Most of the community is Muslim, but they still love listening to the radio station.
