John and Sharon were both missionary kids in Ecuador and Venezuela. They met in college in California and worked in education for several years before beginning their service in 1985 with Reach Beyond (known then as HCJB). John specialized in television ministry and Sharon in education and music, first in Quito and later in Guatemala. They now are back in Quito, Ecuador serving with Radio HCJB in their new expanding vision for using high-end video production on social media platforms and cinema. John trains and consults internationally with video ministries to strengthen their impact with audiences.

John also collaborates long-distance with Asociación Viña in Guatemala to produce and distribute Deditos, a video series for kids dramatizing foundational Old Testament stories. The videos are being dubbed throughout the world into both major and minor languages.
