Now retired, Larry and Linda Burk served from 2001 to 2004 in the Sub-Sahara Africa regional office in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, with Lee and Michelle Sonius and Daniel and Francoise Dossmann.  A radio engineer, Larry consulted on building plans and installed or repaired equipment for local FM stations in the region.  His projects included a training center (CEFCA) and the Frequence Vie station in Abidjan and FM stations in northern Ivory Coast, Niger, Nigeria, and Benin. Linda handled the office bookkeeping.

After the evacuation in 2004 because of civil unrest, we relocated to the HCJB Global (now Reach Beyond) Technology Center in Elkhart, Indiana, working there through the end of 2007.  Larry was part of the Broadcast Services department, mainly repairing studio equipment for radio partners, and Linda assisted with clerical work and the SonSet radios.
