Dear Friend

I wish it were possible to share with you every story and testimony of how we’ve seen God at work during this past year. God is using your faithful prayers, financial gifts, and support of our missionaries to accomplish far more than we can ever know or possibly imagine.

We continue to work alongside partners to use radio, digital media, and social media channels to share the Gospel with many millions of people around the world and directly engage with them in one-on-one conversations. Tangible ministries like healthcare, clean water wells, and community development projects provide opportunities for us to demonstrate God’s love and personally share the Good News of Jesus. God is using our people to accomplish His purposes, making disciples, and helping to strengthen His church.

The task of reaching the world is far from finished. There are still 3 billion people who have never heard the Good News. Reaching them will not be easy as most live in places and cultures that have been resistant to the Gospel. Yet, we are seeing God move in amazing and powerful ways. Even in the most difficult places, many people are becoming believers—whole communities are choosing to follow Jesus. One thing is for certain: God’s plans never fail!

We are so grateful that you have chosen to co-laborer with us in God’s Harvest. I pray that you will be filled with joy at seeing these glimpses of what God has done. Please join us in praising God and giving Him all the glory.

MISSION

ABOUT US

Reach Beyond works alongside local believers and ministry partners to share Jesus, bring hope, and transform communities worldwide through the power of the Gospel. Since our beginnings in 1931 as Radio Station HCJB in Quito, Ecuador, we have sought to tell the whole world about Jesus. While some of our methods have changed over the years, our vision and purpose have not. We believe that God has called us to help His church become active participants in the Great Commission and make disciples of all nations.

Two testimonies from countries that are resistant to the Gospel —

• “I used to despise Christianity and Christians, and I helped persecute them. When I found you on social media, I responded very aggressively whenever someone talked about Christ, the cross, and the incarnation. Anytime someone said that Jesus died to rescue us from the captivity of sin, I would go nuts. I was so enraged that I entered the private chat to insult anyone who responded. The most incredible part was that the counselor reacted to my insults with ‘God bless you.’ Eventually, he asked to pray with me. I declined at first, but when he asked again, I felt humiliated to refuse. I have no idea what occurred after he started praying! I found myself sobbing, like a small lost child. He told me I could call him at any time. Three days later, I messaged him, and we talked about a variety of topics. We read the Bible for more than 3 hours without even noticing the time.

"I asked how to become a Christian"

I started watching and listening to every program I could—asking lots of questions. Finally, I asked how to become a Christian. They sent me several teachings on Christianity and prayed with me for deliverance. I am learning the way of Jesus—to be compassionate and tender like Him. I have now joined the discipleship program to learn more about Jesus Christ and grow in my Christian faith.”

• “I was attracted to your social media page that talked so differently about love. When I contacted the counselor, I felt the comfort that I had always sought. I was very critical about my ex-religion and asked, ‘Where can I find mercy?’ Her answer changed the course of my life, ‘Mercy was incarnated on our land in the form of Christ, so peace met with the land of misery as Jesus came to comfort people, remove their burdens, and set them free from the bondage of sin and death to the new life and the joyful eternity.’

Shortly after, I had two dreams of Christ, in which He told me, ‘Do not be afraid.’ I decided to devote and submit the rest of my life to Him, to His love and authority, and to accept Him as Lord and Savior.”

From a graduate of our Media Internship Program (MIP) in a country that highly restricts the Gospel —

“MIP is a milestone of my life. I now split my life into two parts: before MIP and after. I used to be a guy who was stupid and self-centered. I disregarded everyone in authority. All I cared about was hanging out with friends, going to nightclubs, drugs, and alcohol. My choices led to a criminal record. One day, the police came to the university to take me away in handcuffs. Aaron*, the MIP Director, just happened to be there. He vouched for me with the police officers and the university dean. He offered me an internship and said it would probably be the last chance I’d have to change my life.

“I was a real headache for the MIP team. But after a couple of months, I felt like I never had before. I was doing better morally, and my life was getting under control. I had become a part of something new and important. I felt like people needed me and I had become useful. That was such a strong feeling. Wow!

All five students in the 2024 Media Internship Program decided to follow Jesus.

“During my internship, I was always asking myself ‘Why are those people trying to care for me?’ When I realized it was because they were Christians, I laughed out loud. I said, ‘Who cares about Jesus and those old fairy tales.’ But I remained curious. They were so patient with problem students like me. I began asking many silly and mocking questions—I still feel ashamed for what I said. Yet they answered all of them in a very gentle and polite way. After a three-month battle, I surrendered my life to the Lord.

“To say my life has changed is an understatement. I have never seen such power in my life. The moment of accepting Jesus was both the hardest and the easiest thing to do. I can’t explain it. There are no human words to describe what I felt. All I have in my life—my education, freedom, family, job, friends—all those are given by Him—my Lord of everything.”

A young boy playing in the water at sunset
From a missionary working among an unreached people group that has been highly resistant to the Gospel —

“In December, I was able to share the Good News with my little friend Sam*. This kid and his family have been one of the few constants since I landed in Southeast Asia five years ago. Sam has met every member of my family and almost every person who has come to visit me! So many people have poured their lives, prayers, and love into this family.

‘I want to follow Jesus! And my mommy and my daddy and my baby sister too!’

“Our conversation started with a sticker on my water bottle, which led to talking about how one gets to heaven. Sam shared what he thought, and I shared what I thought. I told him that I am a really terrible person who deserves to go to hell. All of us are! Jesus came and died so that we don’t have to, if we follow Him. Now, because I follow Jesus, I can go to heaven. I really expected him to just brush it off and continue with his math lesson. But instead, we talked for a while about Jesus, heaven, and hell. Suddenly, he looked at me and said, ‘I want to follow Jesus! And my mommy and my daddy and my baby sister too!’

“What an amazingly mind-blowing experience to witness these first little steps in the truth. I’m tempted to think, ‘He’s just a kid, certainly he doesn’t understand what he is saying!’ But did any of us fully understand the Good News when we first heard it? Doesn’t Jesus say, let the little children come to Him? He is a God who desires the lost to be found. So yes—the road ahead is long for little Sam—he is one of the first of his people group in our community who has taken a step of faith. Would you pray with me, as I walk with him—that God would honor those simple but powerful words, ‘I want to follow Jesus!’? And would you also pray for his family—his dad, mom, and baby sister too?”

From one of our media partners —

“At Radio Peace*, we want to reach the unreached—the lost—the people who have never gotten the opportunity to hear about Jesus. And we want to help them understand that there is only one way to salvation, and that is through Jesus.”

“We know that 80% of the 400,000 people in our area listen to our station even though most of them follow Islam and other traditional beliefs.

“One of our Muslim listeners said, ‘Radio Peace is our only source of comfort when we have stress at night, and they provide a solution for it. And, if we listen in the early morning, Radio Peace guides us on how we should walk in our daily activities so we are going out stress-free. By listening to Radio Peace, we are able to face every single roadblock and situation in our community with happiness, instead of discouragement.’

“We are seeing many people deciding to follow Jesus.”

“We see that our approach is making a difference in the community. In fact, leaders from another town came to us and said, ‘We need this in our community too.’ And Reach Beyond again helped us to start a station there. Today, we are seeing many people deciding to follow Jesus

“We want to thank Reach Beyond and its donors for all of your support over the years. Without your help, it would have been difficult for us to launch our stations and do the ministry we do today. God, in His own way, has been using Reach Beyond to provide for our needs. Your commitment to equipping us with tools and training to enhance our work is helping us reach more souls and extend the Kingdom of God. So, we pray for God’s divine blessings on you for helping to facilitate the work He’s given us here! —Sincerely, M.”

From one of our community development missionaries —

“I remember when Pastor Abram* first showed me the patch of land they’d been given. To me, it was just an empty field, but to him, it was a place full of potential. He was already envisioning the thriving church that could be planted there along with a well that would provide clean water for the entire community.

“We began helping Pastor Abram to realize his vision in 2023 by working with our partners and a local contractor to hand-dig a 40ft-deep well on that property. But then the walls of the well collapsed and the frustrated contractor walked away, leaving us and our partners wondering what to do next. In faith, our partners returned later that year to try again, only to encounter more challenges. The concrete rings we built to form the walls of the well were sinking in the soft shifting soil. I traveled to the site again in early 2024 to help brainstorm ways to reinforce and stabilize the structure. Once that work was done, they successfully tested the well and then completed the enclosure, only to discover that the well had since gone dry.

“The church has already grown to over 100 people!”

“To me, it didn’t make any sense. Our partner said the same thing and then added. ‘We just have to pray.’ And so we did. We prayed, and the church prayed. We decided to dig down another 15 feet and reinforce everything, and to our relief, the well began producing water.

“God worked through what seemed like an impossible situation to open doors into a place that had seemed unreachable with the Gospel. The well’s failures had captured the community’s curiosity—like bystanders gathering to watch a tragedy. Yet through this process, something more profound unfolded—God showed them that He is more powerful than any well or human effort.

“This well, which seemed doomed to fail, has instead become a ray of hope. In September, the community inaugurated the new well and their joy was indescribable. Even more exciting is that the church that was planted beside it has already grown to over 100 people. This story reminds us that God’s plans never fail.”
