The board of HCJB Global's World Office in Curitiba, Brazil, has named a pastor, Edson Bruno Zilse, as its new president.
"Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you," proclaimed Bruno, preaching from Hosea 10:12 (English Standard Version) at HCJB Global-Brazil's annual meeting on Monday, May 3.
Ingrid Friesen Winter, director of the World Office and a Portuguese radio programmer, said Bruno "encouraged us to continue preparing the fields for plowing, tilling the hard soil of the hearts to receive the good seed of righteousness which we have sown, and so we have a harvest of blessings that love produces as God promises to shower upon us the rain of salvation."
With the October 2009 closure of Radio Station HCJB's international transmitter site in Pifo, Ecuador, shortwave broadcasts to Brazil were transferred to CVC, La Voz Cristiana, in Santiago, Chile, where airtime has been purchased by the HCJB Global-Germany office.
Broadcasts from the Santiago site air in Portuguese and Kulina (an indigenous dialect) on 11920 kHz while German and Low German programs air on 9835 kHz daily) starting at 2300 UTC. In addition, programming is available on the website, www.hcjb.com.br.
