Storly Michel accepts an award from the NRB on behalf of Radio 4VEH in Haiti. |
Many miles distant and decades later, Michel accepted the "International Radio Ministry 2013 Award" from the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB). He now manages Radio 4VEH. His wife, Kate, directs the station's marketing and communications.
Representing Radio 4VEH's staffs both past and present, Michel thanked those at the NRB convention in Nashville, Tenn., saying, "To God be the glory! This award is an acknowledgement of how faithful He has been to use this radio ministry to transform the lives of listeners across Haiti."
The station, established in Cap-Haitien in 1950, is a ministry of One Mission Society. Broadcasts are in Creole, French and English. Ten years ago HCJB Global engineers helped Radio 4VEH launch a satellite network with FM downlink stations in Haiti (La Tortue Island, Pignon and Dèyèmon), adding to its existing AM and FM stations.

Radio 4VEH has extended its gospel impact in Haiti through evangelism and the distribution of solar-powered, fixed-tuned radios, including an audio New Testament component, through its recent "Resounding Hope" initiative.
Thanking the NRB, his staff, donors and listeners, Michel added a thank you to the station's partners in radio ministry. "As we press on, we look forward in eager anticipation to all that God will do as we work together to reach the nations for Christ," he said.

"I listen to 4VEH every day and go to sleep listening," commented Amos, a Radio 4VEH listener. In response, Kate Michel said, "What a privilege that God allows us to be the voice that speaks into the lives of people like Amos and hundreds of thousands others each day."
