Kay and Norm Emery served for over thirty years with HCJB (now Reach Beyond) in Ecuador.  Norm's work was primarily in Spanish areas of our ministry since he grew up in Ecuador and was fluent in Spanish.  We worked in the Human Resources department for our over six hundred Ecuadorian employees.  Norm also served in hospital administration for several years, first of all in Shell, and later assisted in the Quito hospital.  Norm also helped in Field Direction assisting our field director, mostly in the area of legal procedures, working with our Ecuadorian attorney and helping where ever possible.  Kay served first of all in the English Language service, helping with correspondence.  She later served in the BIA (Bible Institute of the Air) processing lessons for the many students around the world.  Kay also served for a time in Spanish radio, processing correspondence.  We served in the HCJB guest house for three years, and Kay did a great deal with interior decorating for offices and also in the homes of our missionary staff.  Norm served on several Ecuadorian church related boards, and was always involved in the Spanish churches, preaching, teaching, and seeking ways to encourage the Ecuadorian church. 

We are deeply grateful for the years that God gave us serving with HCJB (now Reach Beyond) and the work of the Kingdom in Ecuador.   Norm went to be with his Savior on Saturday, April 11, 2015.
