After serving in Quito, Ecuador for nine years, first as teachers at the Alliance Academy and then on the pastoral team at English Fellowship Church, Phil and Rea, along with their three children, returned to the U.S. in June 2021 for a brief season of transition. During this time, Rea completed a certification in Spiritual Formation through the Institute for Spiritual Formation at Talbot School of Theology (Biola University).

In March 2023, the Holcombs relocated to Bangkok, Thailand, where Phil now serves on the pastoral team at the Evangelical Church of Bangkok. Rea continues as a missionary with Reach Beyond, serving as Member Care Associate for the Asia-Pacific region.

With her rich cross-cultural background (growing up as a Third Culture Kid [TCK] in Mozambique, Kenya, and the Philippines) Rea brings deep empathy and understanding to her role. She supports fellow missionaries as they navigate the challenges of cultural adjustment, transitions, and cross-cultural ministry. Her passion for Spiritual Formation allows her to walk alongside global workers, helping them establish healthy rhythms of rest and renewal in the midst of demanding ministry life.
