Transitional Regional Director – North Africa / Middle East Region
Location: TBD (with Regional and international travel, including during Home Ministry Assignment periods)
Reports to: Vice President of International Ministries
Purpose: Are you called to lead at a pivotal moment of transformation and opportunity? Reach Beyond is seeking a Transitional Regional Director to guide our North Africa / Middle East (NAME) Region through a season of discernment, renewal, and strategic growth. This entrepreneurial leadership role offers a unique opportunity to evaluate and strengthen existing ministries, explore new opportunities, and build vision and strategy for long-term impact among the unreached.
Under the guidance of the Vice President of International Ministries, you will provide strategic, spiritual, and operational oversight during a defined 18–36 month transition period. This includes ensuring ministry continuity, excellent personnel care, evaluation of current work and partnerships, and smooth preparation for a permanent Regional Director (the transitional leader may apply for the full-time role).
All work will align fully with Reach Beyond’s mission: to serve as the voice and hands of Jesus by proclaiming and demonstrating the Good News among the unreached, bringing hope, healing, and transformation through integrated media (Voice) and healthcare/community development (Hands). At the end of the transition, the role will be handed over to the full-time Regional Director.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

- Maintain a comprehensive, big-picture perspective across the NAME Region, ensuring full alignment with Reach Beyond’s vision, values, and priorities.
- Oversee Voice (media) and Hands (healthcare & community development) ministries, promoting integrated, compassionate approaches that address spiritual and physical needs.
- Manage regional budgets and lead strategic evaluation of current ministries, partnerships, and potential new opportunities.
- Lead teams with a servant heart, modeling Christ-like humility as they discern and strategize the Region’s future.
Team Leadership and Development
- Provide pastoral shepherding and member care, supporting the spiritual, emotional, and practical well-being of all NAME missionaries and staff.
- Promote discipleship and leadership development by identifying emerging leaders and offering targeted training.
- Build, train, and lead diverse, committed teams; conduct annual performance reviews; and address conflicts biblically and restoratively.
- Manage administrative requirements from the US office, including budgeting, personnel, and reporting.
Mobilization and Disciple-Making
- Drive the Region toward mobilization goals by facilitating placement and support of career missionaries, short-term missionaries, and short-term teams.
- Lead effective disciple-making ministries with clear accountability for measurable outcomes in collaboration with local believers and Country Offices.
- Communicate timely staffing needs to Mobilization teams.
Partnerships and Ministry Development
- Cultivate “receiving” partnerships with local believers and like-minded organizations to support sustainable, multiplying impact.
- Invest at least four hours per week in ministry partner development (financial and prayer supporters).
- Deliver presentations at churches, groups, and events (on-field and during HMA) to inspire involvement and build partnerships.
- Collaborate regularly with the RB Church Engagement Director and expand opportunities for engagement (prayer, giving, going).
Operational and Collaborative Leadership
- Actively participate in the Growth & Means RB USA operational team.
- Serve on the Global Leadership Team, Regional Directors/International Lead Team, and other assigned bodies.
- Perform other duties as assigned to advance Regional and organizational objectives.
Qualifications and Desired Characteristics
- Strong personal commitment to Reach Beyond’s mission of reaching unreached people groups through proclamation, demonstration, and equipping local believers.
- Proven cross-cultural ministry leadership or regional oversight experience, ideally in transitional contexts.
- Heart for servant leadership, discipleship, pastoral care, and empowering others.
- Excellent relational, communication, conflict-resolution, and team-building skills.
- High flexibility, adaptability, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit for dynamic, travel-intensive work.
- Alignment with evangelical Christian faith, biblical values, and passion for the Great Commission.
- Willingness to travel regionally/internationally and participate in HMA activities.
- Ability to lift fifty pounds.
This transitional role is critical to sustaining momentum, caring for people, multiplying disciples, and transforming communities among the unreached in the NAME Region.
