Radio is both a perfect evangelism and discipleship tool for those from other religions who want to investigate Christianity, for Jesus-followers who are isolated and don’t know other believers, for those looking for meaning and hope in their lives.

Mobilizing these national Christians by helping them obtain the transmitters and antennas needed to launch radio ministries is one of our greatest treasures. One example is Radio HCJB in Quito, Ecuador – where we want to upgrade aging equipment at Studio 9 and replace towers and antennas so that clear signals can be heard in the coastal cities of Manta and Esmeraldas.

The impact of radio ministries, operated by local believers, is overwhelming as listeners respond to our partner stations with testimonies of how they have been touched by the programs.

A Muslim woman listened to a partner’s radio station in Indonesia and came to the station to ask, “How can I receive Christ as you tell about on the radio?” The staff led the woman to Christ. When she returned home, her friend asked why she seemed different. “Take my radio -- listen and find out,” she said. Three months later, the woman arrived at the station with 12 friends, all ready to receive Jesus.
