Christian Counselor
You could provide Christian counseling to the listeners of Spanish radio station HCJB in Quito, Ecuador.
Do you have:
- A heart for engaging with Latin American people who are hurting or asking big questions
- A passion for equipping people with the tools to strengthen their mental, emotional, and spiritual health
- Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
- The ability and desire to live overseas and serve as a missionary in Quito, Ecuador
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Christian counseling
- At least two years of experience in Christian counseling
- A willingness to work on a multi-cultural team
- Fluency In Spanish (written and spoken) or the willingness to go to language school
- The ability and desire to go to the field now (within 1 year), including time to raise your missionary support and/or be self-funded
- A commitment to serving long-term in this position
Many listeners of Radio HCJB's programs are moved by the Holy Spirit to contact the station and share their burdens or seek answers to the questions that are weighing them down. As a Christian counselor, you will have opportunities to engage with them personally and minister to their mental, emotional and spiritual needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide Christian counseling for the listeners serving each person in their various needs, focusing on mental health, emotional health, and spiritual growth and development
- Available to respond to listeners by meeting in person or by email or telephone
- Evaluate the various needs of each listener seeking help, keeping in mind the limitations of our service and making referrals to the various professional services if the needs are beyond our resources or expertise
All candidates must be able to sign the Reach Beyond Statement of Faith.
