Systems Administrator - Spain

The North Africa Middle East region (NAME) is populated with the hardest people groups to reach. In many parts of the region, we cannot send missionary workers, but we can support media ministry that crosses borders through media outreach, including production studios, social media, FM and online radio, training, and support. We also work closely with local churches in our area of Spain. The NAME Region office is a workplace as well as a 24/7 FM radio station with studios and live on-air facilities.
This is how we are working to help fulfill the Great Commission of Christ. Will you join us?
The Systems Administrator’s responsibilities include:
- Manage the server environment (currently Windows and Linux) and associated hardware under the direction of Reach Beyond’s existing worldwide team.
- Provide IT support on desktop productivity software and the desktop operating system to the staff.
- Perform maintenance duties on desktop systems and servers to ensure security patches are maintained.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting for the office network system, including firewall, backups, and file servers under the direction of the global IT team.
- Liaison with local internet service providers.
- Perform maintenance duties on radio and recording studio computers and equipment including the studio-transmitter link.
- Perform research and configuration of special project equipment (eg. Bible Box on Raspberry Pi).
- Build/Rebuild desktop computer systems (software and hardware).
- Physical wiring and general electrical maintenance.
- Analyze business and technical requirements for replacement systems.
- Various other tasks as are necessary within the team.
Requirements:
- A technology diploma or equivalent preferable.
- Experience in computer systems design, analysis, implementation, and subsequent administration.
- Exposure and interest in radio broadcast hardware and software would be an asset.
- A passion for disciple-making among unreached people from various worldviews.
- The desire and ability to live and work from the regional office in Spain.
- Self-directed with good communication skills.
- Flexibility and an eagerness to learn.
- An ability and passion to help others understand, use and make the most of technology.
- Capabilities with shop tools and general repair knowledge.
- A commitment to serving long-term (3 to 4 years) in this position.
- Raise your missionary support and/or be self-funded.
- Spanish and English competency or willingness to learn.
All missionary candidates must be able to sign the Reach Beyond Statement of Faith.
