Latin America

Project ID: 31000

Region: Latin America
Ministry: Community Development, Digital Media, Discipleship, Education, Healthcare, Media Training, Ministry Training, Shortwave

Reach Beyond has a rich history in Latin America dating back to 1931 when Radio Station HCJB, the world’s pioneer missionary radio station, went on the air in Quito, Ecuador. In the years that followed, HCJB/Reach Beyond has built hospitals, provided medical caravans and community development programs, launched shortwave, AM/FM and digital media programs, and provided training in communications, healthcare and theology.

Today, Reach Beyond works alongside Latin Christians in a number of ways:

•  Radio HCJB continues to share the Gospel message with an audience of 2.5 million in Ecuador and beyond, through online content.

•  We support medical and dental outreaches in remote Ecuadorian villages and in community clinics.

•  We install clean water systems in isolated jungle and mountain areas, and provide training in good hygiene/sanitation principles.

•  We sponsor Players of Hope, audio players that are loaded with evangelism and discipleship content and distributed to communities along the Amazon Basin in Brazil.

•  Apoyo, Reach Beyond’s pastoral training and development ministry, offers seminars for church leaders across Latin America.

•  Corrientes (Currents) is a mentoring program, preparing Latin Americans for missionary service worldwide.

This is how we are working to help fulfill the Great Commission of Christ. Will you join us?
